I am Natan Shlomo. I am a Torah Educator with Haskamah to teach and to publish works of Jewish theology and Ethics. I am also an AI Artist, Writer, and a Website/Graphic Designer.
My hobbies include immersive tabletop board games, reading/watching science and fiction/fantasy. I also believe physical fitness is very important and I work out every day.
I am a very creative person. I have over 10,000 published artworks. My artworks are made using AI created templates that are then edited individually using my own artistic process. Sometimes I also create NFTs of my artwork. I have also published several short stories which I hope to develop further.
My deepest passion, however, is Judaism. I immerse myself in Torah Learning and Prayer on a daily basis. To this end I have written over 2700 Torah articles on Quora in order to clarify many misconceptions about Judaism and to spread the message that The Creator loves each and every person.
I have Haskamah to teach and publish Jewish Theology and Ethics from Rav Dr. Mordechai Goldstein TZL, Founder and Former Rosh Yeshivah of Diaspora Yeshiva since 2015.
I also have permision to teach and publish from Rav Abraham Breinwein TZL, Admor of Streten Hassidim in Jerusalem, Israel since 2013.
I teach and publish on Quora. This allows students to ask me questions about Judaism. I then answer the question by writing an in depth article on each topic I am asked about. This allows me to teach in such a way that the material can be easily understood as well as giving the reader the information needed to fact check from the Torah Sources.
Originally this project was intended to be through a devoted website but with Rabbi Breinwein's passing in 2013 this project was delayed until 2015. Then the decision was made to use Quora.
The original Quora account used was eventually taken down in 2019 due to changes in the website format and its monetization policies. A new account was created in 2019 that would not use any monetization features and would answer the questions direcly rather than use the spaces features or commnents. The articles that had been published until that point were re-edited and re-published on the new account. Since 2019 there has been at least 1 article per day excluding Shabbat and Holidays. Over 250,000 unique accounts have viewed the over 2700 articles published.
I write in a clear and concise way without using esoteric metaphors. My source material is primarily Derech Hashem by Rabbi Moshe Chaim Luzzato for Jewish Theology. when I answer questions about The Messiah I use Mishnei Torah: Laws of Kings and Their Wars to answer. Other primary sources I use for Jewish Ethics are Pirkey Avot and Mesilat Yesharim.
When necessary I also cite other sources, primarily Rashi and various Midrashim taken from the excellent work Midrash Says by Rabbi Moshe Weissman.
Historical Timeline and Secular Academic sources are used in my Torah articles only to explain the Torah concept or Torah Timeline in simple everyday language, but are not used as proof of the concept. I write from the perspective that the Torah concept is always true because it is Divine in origin. If its description coincides with the recorded timeline or a known scientific principle then that timeline and scientific principle is correct.
I write from the perspective that The Prophecy of The Prophets of Israel are facts and that the Prophetic Tradition as taught by the Talmudic Sages is true.
As a general rule I do not answer questions on Jewish Law except where the law is required to discuss a theological or ethical concept.
I do not make rulings (Posak) of Jewish law for individuals or groups online even where I cite what the law is and its source. I also do not use the title of Rabbi except where absolutely needed to show my Torah qualifications on an online profile format. The reason for this is that I believe that the use of the title Rabbi is an awesome responsibility. I choose to be a Rabbi only when writing Torah articles that can be fact checked. When it comes to ruling on Jewish law I choose to leave that to others who specialize in Jewish Law (Halacha). I specialize in Theology and Ethics (Agadata).
My beliefs are rooted in Classical Orthodox Judaism which is a form of Absolute Monotheism. The Compendium of Jewish Theology is known as Derech Hashem and was compiled by Moshe Chaim Luzzatto. It is universally accepted by Orthodox Jews.
I believe that morality is absolute and rooted in the Divine Laws regulating actions. These are the 613 commandments for Jews and the 7 universal laws within those 613 given to all people.
I believe that which is forbidden under Divine law is always wrong, that which is commanded to do is always right, and that which is neither forbidden or commanded is fine to do given that one does it in an ethical way, meaning with the atributes listed below.
These atributes are Faith In The God of Israel, Belief in Prophecy as taught by the Orthodox Rabbinical Tradition, Humility, Kindness, Self Control, Balanced Lifestyle, Patience, Courage, and the ability to know when to act and when to restrain oneself.
I am an Orthodox Jew. I can be considered Dati Leumi. The term is Religious Zionist.
For Clarification:
I am NOT affiliated with Chabad, Kahanism, The Kabbalah Center, Reform Judaism, Conservative Judaism, Reconstructionist Judaism, or any non-Jewish religious or political organization.
I do not have any interest in politics or leading any activist groups. I am happy teaching Torah, publishing AI Art, writing fiction, and helping others as I can.
I believe Israel is Divinely Promised to The Jewish people and as such all Jews should live in Israel. I do not accept the idea of a Two State solution. I believe that those people that live within the boundaries of The State of Israel should all be under the same laws administered in the same way.
I believe that peace is only possible when both parties want to make peace. Ultimately one side can offer peace, but if the other side has habitually broken the peace as soon as it is made then further attempts at peace are impossible. There is always that last time when one side wishes to make peace and the habitual offender breaks it for the last time. It is at that point that the tide turns and the side which offered peace for the last time realizes they have made their final effort in good faith and are now free to pursue victory by any means necessary. I believe that Israel and the Jewish people as a whole have reached that point. Yes victory is assured, but the time for negotiations have ended. The time for action has come.
Judaism teaches that at such a point The Creator has seen that one has done all they can to avoid the conflict. At that point, Judaism teaches that The Creator "fights" alongside those that pursued of peace at the first. This has many deeper meanings, but at its basic level it means that it becomes a commandment for the person who was attacked to defend themselves to the point where they are no longer in danger.
I believe that there is a difference between extremism and fanaticism. An extremist exibits extreme behaviours using a theology or dogma as an excuse to build up his or her ego due to a lack of self esteem.
A fanatic on the other hand truly believes that what he or she is doing is the right thing. While a fanatic's actions may be extreme, generally fanatics do not seek out problems, they will react in an extreme way if a problem comes their way or to prevent a problem, but they will not seek problems out. Problems here refer to actions they perceive as sinful.
Another important difference between an extremist and a fanatic is that a fanatic will maintain a great degree of self control, if their belief system calls for them to do so, even when they greatly desire to do something. For a fanatic the driving force is not emotions or desires, but "the truth" of their belief. A fanatic will follow the "true path" even when it goes contrary to their desires and even when their ego is humbled by it. Fanatics will alter their opinions based on their ideology's truth, extremists in contrast will alter their ideology to suit their ego, feelings, and desires.
There are things that I do not tolerate, some of those things are cruelty to women, cruelty to children, cruelty to animals, and hatred rooted in race. I also do not tolerate Idolatry or sexual immorality in my home.
I do however believe that negative feelings towards someone based on their negative actions towards you or their own hatred of you is justified. Acting on these negative feelings outside of The Law, based on simply one's emotions is not justified.
The AI artwork "The Victorius Jew:" is one of the first AI art pieces I did. The intention is that all sucess comes from The Creator. Thus the blesing here is seen as money pouring from heaven. The figure in the artwork manifests an attitude of confidence because he has absolute faith in The Creator. If you look carefully you will also see a black line over the head of the figure in the image. This is supposed to imply a religious Jew wearing a skullcap. Finally the image in the artwork was derived from a photograph of myself wearing a suit and a tie then manipulated using AI and subsequently altered using editing tools into the final image shown.
